
Stress effects our body significantly. According National of Mental Health and other groups, Stres contributes to half of all illnesses in the U.S. Nearly 70% of the illnesses report at the hospitals are stress related illness. Below are some steps you can do to make sure you stay healthy.
- Laugh more. When we laugh, blood flow is increased to the brain, relasing endorphins, which are hormones that give a sense of well-being.
- Be more sociable. When we are isolated, we tend to focus more on our negative problems and feelings. Calling out to friends and family helps you to forget your worries and let go of the negative thoughts.
- Be more decisive. When we are indecisive, it prevents us from taking action. It reduces your sense of being in control. In result, it makes you more stressed.
- Learn to be more assertive. Assertiveness simply means expressing your feelings, letting others know your beliefs and opinions, and also acting on your own behalf.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco.
- Write down pent-up emotions. If you;re under emotional stress, simply write it down in a journal or diary. This can help relieve the problem.
